vista sux. still have many bugs and incompatibility issues as of now. but who can tell just like shadow said for 2 - 3 years from now. what i like from vista is the new look and securities only. but if you will ask which is better, i recommend windows xp.

yeah but vista is the latest version of coyrse its better! microsoft aint gonna mess that one up. once they smooth out the issues- it'll be number 1 by a mile. guaranteed

In my opinion, XP is much better now, is lighter than vista. Security problem? - not a problem as long as you have a good antivirus and good firewall. Fast Searching - Google Desktop or  Windows Desktop Search. ...
I think the only advantage of Vista is DirectX10.
