no one does it anymore, I mean nowadays it's a bit trickier. That's why you see sites with weird names like gmail I mean now almost every domain is taken, so they have to resort to weirder addresses like .ws .tv

Yeah, I agree. Any domain with combinations of 5 or less characters is probably already taken.

Besides, I put my nickname as my domain. Pretty funny when your domain name is already indicated on a bus.. lol

It isn't luck, it depends on what domain name you chose it needs to apeal to everyone and to what other people want.

yes , some domains have real high value , i own my own domain vbproject.info , its a vbulletin related domain , and i always target at some gud things related domain , as ipb related domain , vbulletin related domain and some short domains , as its market price are too high. if u reserve some gud quality domain u can sell them for high price later , thats the catch ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if every word in the English language had its own .com (a part from the really obscure ones). I'd guess you'd hit a gold mine if you registered a domain which later became a prominent English word or household name (CHAV, for example).

There are many people who enter the lottery every week (or more); you'd probably be better off buying a domain or two every month and seeing what comes from that at the end of the year.
